Since the early 1990s, the city’s growth has accelerated as the city’s population grew and migration from other parts of the country increased. The area of the city today has reached 2 square kilometers with a population of 8.5 million. By comparing Tehran today with Tehran in 1966, which had an area of 180 square kilometers and a population of 2.7 million people that had an averege two classes buildings, we conclude that Tehran’s area is four times as high as its two-and-a-half time its population. It has increased slightly more than 5 times. That is, if the area and number of added classes of Tehran are multiplied on one side and divided by the population growth ratio, the capacity of Tehran is at least three times greater than its population growth. Nowadays, the increasing expansion of Tehran and the much longer distances that people have to travel from home to work have made it one of the biggest problems in Tehran today, despite its large capacity.

The expansion of Tehran in recent years and the creation of investment hub on its periphery, although it has had an impact on Valiasr Street and its surrounding contexts, is currently the focus of its most important social, cultural and economic activities.
Despite the area of the street with its area of influence is 0.5 percent the area of the city, but it contains 12% museums, 25% cinemas, 8% cafes, 3.5% restaurants, 8% cultural centers and libraries, 18% parks and 14% galleries of Tehran which is a very significant ratio.

On the other hand, Valiasr is the longest continuous street in Tehran, with almost no interruption, and in today›s Tehran, which is divided by highways into separate sections, Valiasr can serve as a link between many events and people in the city. And in a city that suffers from a shortage of public spaces, it is a place to gather freely for the people of the city, both in events and on a daily basis.
